This long-established chicken restaurant in Shimbashi, Tokyo, has operated at the same location since the Meiji era (founded in 1909). Over the years, it has been beloved by people from political, business, and entertainment circles. It is especially well-known as the restaurant where author Yukio Mishima had his final dinner. The dish he chose, the “Wa (chicken hotpot course menu)", features a traditional chicken broth that has remained unchanged since the restaurant's founding. Mishima had been a regular visitor since childhood, when his grandfather first brought him here. On the eve of his death, the proprietress invited him to return again. Mishima reportedly replied, “I’ll come again—from the afterlife." The restaurant offers both table seating and private tatami rooms, making it ideal for quiet gatherings or business dinners.
