"Hebikubo Shrine", located in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo, is said to have been saved from disaster in 1322, when the area was hit by a major drought, when people prayed for rain at "Ryu Shrine" on the banks of an old pond, and heavy rain fell and the disaster was avoided. It is said that the origin of this ceremony is to pray for a shrine in gratitude.
