"Tagata Shrine," located near Wakayama Castle, enshrines "Izanami no Mikoto" and "Izanagi no Mikoto" as its principal deities. Revered since ancient times as parental deities of life associated with blessings for longevity, matchmaking, and protection from misfortune, the shrine is widely known by the affectionate name "Inochi-gami Otagasan."
