The original buildings were lost in the Boshin War and reconstructed in 1880, and the grounds, with nearly 400 years of history, convey a solemn atmosphere. The name "Hanitsu" reflects the idea of a lord who mastered the principles of all things, and the site draws visitors interested in Aizu’s history. The torii gate is white, reflecting Masayuki’s integrity, and the setting is complemented by seasonal scenery, including cherry blossoms in spring, fresh green maple leaves in summer, and autumn foliage.
