Dairyuji Temple
A temple known for its "prayer daruma" and beautiful garden
Dairyuji Temple is located in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture and is known as the "Praying Daruma Temple." There is a 5m tall seated statue of Daruma Daishi in the precincts, and every January a Daruma memorial service is held, which is crowded with people. Approximately 1,200 Rhododendron azaleas are planted in the garden on the grounds, and in the spring they bloom all over with white flowers, and in the fall they turn into beautiful autumn leaves.
