This historic hotel is located on the hill of Higashiyama in Okayama City, surrounded by nature where you can enjoy the changing seasons: cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in summer, and autumn leaves in autumn.This historic hotel was once used by the imperial family. In the lobby, pillars made of red pine, Okayama's prefectural tree, and Bizen ware murals remain, giving a sense of the atmosphere of the time the hotel opened. With various types of guest rooms including Japanese-style rooms, Western-style rooms, and Japanese-Western rooms, this hotel is recommended not only for sightseeing in Okayama but also for workdays. Both breakfast and dinner can be enjoyed at the on-site restaurant, and the dessert set is also popular.
名泉鍵湯 奥津荘
This charming wooden hot spring inn is nestled in the Okutsu area of Kagamino-cho, Okayama Prefecture. Established in 1927, the building is a registered tangible cultural property and is said to have connections with former Prime Minister Inukai Tsuyoshi and renowned printmaker Munakata Shiko. The inn’s interior combines the nostalgic charm of its origins with a modern design that offers contemporary comforts. There are a total of eight rooms, including Japanese-Western style rooms renovated in 2024 and a detached building featuring an open-air bath. The inn boasts a rare hot spring experience, allowing guests to soak directly in the "spring water that naturally emerges from underground". The hot spring includes an indoor bath positioned above the spring source and a private bath, both of which are also available for day use.
