Takayama Inari Shrine
"Senbon Torii" is a vermilion path that connects God and people.
A miraculous shrine located in the Takayama area of Tsugaru City, Aomori Prefecture, dedicated to the god of abundant harvest, maritime safety, and business prosperity. Its origins date back to the Kamakura and Muromachi periods, when the Ando clan, a powerful clan, built Sanno-jinja Shrine as a shrine within its precincts. Inari Shrine was built in the Edo period, and the deities enshrined are Ukanomitama no Mikoto, Satahiko no Mikoto, and Omiya Noume no Mikoto. The vermilion "Senbon Torii" were first dedicated in 1981, and have been renovated as part of the Reiwa Grand Rei Celebration Prayer Project, and currently more than 200 have been dedicated. Worshipers who wish to pray can stay overnight at the Sanshuden.
