A Circulating Ropeway Traveling Along the Momijidani Line
The Momijidani Line runs between "Momijidani Station" and "Kayatani Station" as a circulating ropeway with multiple eight-passenger gondolas operating continuously. It is the only ropeway in Japan that passes above the primeval forest of Mount Misen, a World Heritage area.

The Shishiiwa Line Operating a Reversible Ropeway System
The Shishiiwa Line runs between "Kayatani Station" and "Shishiiwa Station" as an alternating ropeway, with 35-passenger gondolas renewed in March 2026 operating back and forth. At a higher elevation, it offers views of the Seto Inland Sea’s island-dotted landscape.

Mount Misen, regarded as a sacred mountain, offers numerous points of interest, including the "Misen Observatory," "Misen Main Hall" founded by Kukai (Kobo Daishi), the massive rock tunnel known as "Kuguri Iwa," and a valuable primeval forest designated as a national natural monument, providing a way to experience the character of Miyajima.
