"Shizuoka Railway" is a short 11km line that connects the center of Shizuoka City with Shimizu. Seven of the 12 trains are the "shizuoka rainbow trains," colour-coded in seven hues inspired by Shizuoka’s many local number ones. The ride offers views of the cityscape, with opportunities to glimpse Mt. Fuji and cross the Tomoe River - an experience that captures the essence of Shizuoka and the charm of a local railway.

Although Mount Fuji is a little far from Shizuoka City, there are some viewing spots where you can see it from where the Shizuoka Railway trains run. The contrast between Mount Fuji, visible from the footbridge near Yunoki Station, and the colorful trains running alongside the national highway creates a beautiful scene, making it a recommended spot for photography.

A Monument Popular as a Photo Spot

At the entrance to the Naganuma Depot, a plastic model-style monument displays parts from the A3000 series train, including seats and hand straps, still attached to runners. When an A3000 series train is stopped nearby, the scene creates a composition in which the real train appears to blend into the model.
