Yakitori Grilled Over Binchotan Charcoal and Finished with a Secret Sauce
At "Sumibiyaki Irotoridori," yakitori is made from freshly butchered domestic chicken and grilled over binchotan charcoal, resulting in a crisp, aromatic exterior and a juicy interior. The restaurant’s popular "Chicken Skin Skewer" is best enjoyed with either a secret sauce made with premium junmai sake, which adds a gentle sweetness, or an original salt blend that highlights the natural flavor of the ingredients. Another standout item is the "Junkei Skewer," made with mature hen chicken. The menu also features distinctive selections such as the "Premium Liver Skewer" dressed with a sesame oil-based sauce, the rare-cut "Heart String Skewer," and the sansho-infused "Tuna Negima." The warm, inviting atmosphere provides a comfortable setting for a leisurely meal.
A Diverse Menu Perfect for Pairing with Drinks
In addition to yakitori, the menu features a wide variety of à la carte dishes, including Kumamoto horse sashimi and Japanese fried chicken. The kushikatsu, prepared by hand one skewer at a time, includes around 14 varieties featuring meat, seafood, and vegetables. A particularly popular item is the "Asparagus Wrapped in Pork," made with a whole asparagus spear. Rice made from Koshihikari grown in Shiga and an extensive selection of dishes designed to pair well with drinks further round out the menu.
A Wide Selection From Classic Favorites to Original Drinks
The drink selection is equally extensive, with offerings chosen to complement the cuisine. Reflecting a desire to provide something unique, the restaurant serves a signature lemon sour made with house-made lemon syrup created by steeping fresh lemons in honey and rock sugar. Cocktails, sake, wine, and sangria are also available, providing a wide range of pairing options.
