A Relaxing Space to Enjoy Soba and Sake in Matsuyamachi
Soba-no-Oto is a stone-ground, handmade soba restaurant located just a 1-minute walk from Matsuyamachi Station on the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line. The restaurant was opened by an owner who trained for over 10 years at a renowned soba establishment in Osaka. Soba-no-Oto specializes in flavorful juwari soba, made from carefully selected buckwheat flour sourced from various regions in Japan. The restaurant uses the most suitable flour at any given time to ensure the best quality. While juwari soba is often associated with a dry texture, the noodles here are remarkably firm and smooth. The coarsely ground version offers an exceptionally silky mouthfeel, catering to different preferences.Additionally, the restaurant prioritizes direct sourcing from production areas, ensuring the dishes highlight the fresh and natural flavors of high-quality ingredients.

Delicious Dishes at a Soba Restaurant That Pair Perfectly with Drinks
Among the many items on the izakaya menu, the fluffy "Dashimaki Tamago" stands out as the most popular choice. By reducing the number of rolls, it achieves a delicate texture similar to scrambled eggs. Other notable dishes feature fresh ingredients, such as "Golden Yakumi Chilled Tofu," generously topped with condiments and shutou (fermented fish entrails), as well as "Deep-Fried Eggplant in Dashi."

Creating a Delicious, Comfortable, and Calm Space
The restaurant incorporates reclaimed wood and fittings from an old private house in Arashiyama, creating a stylish space with a touch of modern elegance. The flexible seating arrangements accommodate various group sizes, from families and small gatherings of two or three to larger parties. With its high ceilings and open atmosphere, guests can comfortably enjoy soba and sake pairings at their leisure.
