Regional Sake and Local Ingredients in a Welcoming Space
Located in Nishitosa Ekawasaki, Shimanto, Kochi, this izakaya serves dishes made with homegrown rice and vegetables, as well as wild-caught sweetfish and eel from the Shimanto-gawa River. The drink selection features local sake from the Shimanto area and across Kochi. Tables and chairs retaining the natural grain of the wood create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Shimanto-Inspired Crispy Fried Shrimp
The owner personally gathers Yamato shrimp from mountain valleys in the clean Shimanto-gawa River basin, then deep-fries them until crisp. Their savory saltiness and light, crunchy texture make this deep-fried shrimps an ideal accompaniment to drinks, particularly local sake.
Signature House-Made Sauce and Ponzu
House-made seasonings used in dishes at "Minya" are also available for purchase. Made with miso from Shimanto City, "Family Sauce" is well-received for making flavorful home cooking simple. Crafted with locally produced soy sauce and yuzu, "Ponzu for Beer" has a well-balanced flavor that pairs with beer and a wide range of dishes.
