Tsugaru Traditional Crafts Center
This complex in Kuroishi City, Aomori Prefecture, showcases the traditional crafts and lifestyle culture of Tsugaru. Visitors can see demonstrations and try their hand at Tsugaru lacquerware, Tsugaru Kogin embroidery, and sakiori weaving. The facility also features a restaurant serving local cuisine, a foot bath, and a craft shop, making it a popular hub for tourism and community exchange. With a multi-purpose hall for events, it offers opportunities to experience Tsugaru culture throughout the day.
Touching local crafts is also a fun way to spend a rainy day. There are many workshops where you can experience making things such as pottery, glass crafts, and perfume making, and if you try this as a family or couple, it will be an opportunity to discover a surprising side of your family or partner. The results were better than I expected, given the instructions from the instructor. Of course, each piece is a one-of-a-kind piece. It's sure to be a treasure.

津軽こけし館
This facility brings together 11 types of traditional kokeshi dolls, which have been made mainly in the Tohoku region since the late Edo period. It is said that kokeshi dolls were first created when woodworkers who made bowls and other items began making wooden dolls with painted faces and patterns as souvenirs for children to sell to visitors to hot springs. The charm of kokeshi dolls, infused with new life into inherited designs, continues to captivate visitors.
