Located in Ashizuri Onsen Village at the southernmost tip of Shikoku, "Ashizuri Sunnyside Hotel" features the historic Ashizuri Onsen, said to have first emerged about 1,200 years ago. The hotel is known for its deep sense of history and warm "omotenashi" hospitality. Set along the coast, it offers sweeping views of the "Kuroshio Line" and the Pacific Ocean from the observation deck, guest rooms, and open-air baths. In spring 2023, distinctive Western-style rooms inspired by the sea and sunset also opened. Another highlight is Sawachi cuisine, a signature culinary tradition of Kochi, prepared with ingredients carefully selected by the owner and head chef. Local specialties such as Ise-ebi lobster, "Tosa Wagyu," and "Hachikin Jidori" are also featured.

Newly added in 2023, these Western-style rooms feature an ocean motif. Each room is furnished with semi-double beds by France Bed and focuses on comfort with features such as a spacious shower room and Wi-Fi. Windows overlook the natural scenery of Ashizuri, creating a calm atmosphere.

Modern Japanese Rooms Echoing the Calm of the Sea

Newly added in spring 2024, this Japanese-style room features an ocean motif. The room features an 8-tatami-mat layout with a hiroen sitting area, and its windows open to sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. Ryukyu tatami mats inspired by the Pacific's Kuroshio Current create a chic, soothing Japanese-style space.

Western-Style Rooms Framed by Nature's Warm Scenery

This newly added Western-style room, designed around a sunset motif, is a calm space with well-appointed facilities and carefully chosen warm-toned lighting. A table and chairs are set by the window overlooking the setting sun, creating a relaxed spot to take in the ethereal view.

Feel the Breeze at "Annex Misaki no Kaze"

"Annex Misaki no Kaze," offering a closer sense of Ashizuri's natural scenery, features spacious rooms with a 7.5-tatami-mat Japanese-style area and a loft. Each room includes a deck with views of the vast Pacific Ocean and the "Kuroshio Line," and when conditions are right, the "Daruma Sunset" can be seen sinking into the horizon.

Stay with Pets in Rooms with Semi-Open-Air Baths

The ocean-view "Pet-Friendly Guest Room" allows stays with beloved dogs. Furnished with two beds, it includes pet amenities such as a crate and dishes, and offers the same scenic views as other guest rooms. Accommodation rules apply for stays with pets.

Ashizuri Onsen is a quality natural hot spring containing radon that springs from Joki-nada. The large communal bath features seasonal herbal baths and scenic views that highlight the hot spring's appeal. At night, sea breezes and a starry sky reveal a different atmosphere from the daytime.

Traditional Kochi "Sawachi Cuisine"

Dinner features Tosa regional cuisine made with ingredients carefully selected by the owner and head chef. Seasonal dishes, "Fresh Fish Sashimi," and "Katsuo Tataki (Seared bonito)" with carefully prepared sauce are served in Kochi's distinctive "Sawachi Cuisine" style.

Wine-Steamed Spiny Lobster and Premium Seafood

The "Seafood Wine Steamed Dish" features fresh seafood nurtured by the Kuroshio Current and procured that day, along with Ise-ebi lobster and seasonal vegetables, creating a richly flavored specialty. It is served with "Katsuo Tataki" and "Fresh Fish Sashimi," making it a fitting meal to pair with Kochi local sake.

The setting sun appears to shimmer like a mirage, with two circles overlapping and melting into one another; because the shape resembles a daruma doll, this striking sight is called the "Daruma Sunset." It is said to be visible from the inn in winter, when the air is clear, and the weather and other conditions align.
