Seafood Dishes at a Casual Izakaya
This retro-style seafood izakaya is located a 7-minute walk from JR Matsue Station. It is housed in a quaint building designated as a registered tangible cultural property and serves dishes made with fresh seafood and seasonal ingredients delivered from the market every morning, with a focus on crab and chanko nabe.
Premium Crab Showcased Through Diverse Techniques
Crabs are stored in specialized refrigeration to preserve peak freshness, maintaining full flavor across preparations such as sashimi, crab hotpot, and crab chawanmushi (savory egg custard). A wide range of dishes is crafted with close attention to cooking technique, presentation, and tableware, shaping a composed and memorable dining moment.
A Historic Registered Tangible Cultural Property
The building, with its retro exterior inspired by Jiufen in Taiwan, is designated as a registered tangible cultural property and was originally used as a brothel when it was built in the early Showa period, before being remodeled into an inn. There are 200 seats available, including a room that seats up to 65 diners and private rooms of various sizes.
