Amanosan Kongoji Temple
A solemn and prestigious ancient temple steeped in history
Amanosan Kongoji Temple is located in Kawachinagano City, Osaka Prefecture, and boasts a history of approximately 1,300 years. It is said to have been founded by Gyoki during the Nara period, and its principal image is "Dainichi Nyorai", and "Kobo Daishi Kukai" is the founder of the sect, and his teachings are passed down. Long ago, it served as a place of prayer for Hachijo Nyoin, the younger sister of the retired Emperor Goshirakawa, and is known as "Women's Takano" because it accepted women's prayers even during the era when women were prohibited. Within the precincts, there are 5 national treasures and 29 important cultural properties, including the three statues of the "Kondo," and there are many notable buildings such as the "Tahoto," "Gobutsudo," and "Mieido." The scenery surrounded by beautiful nature is tasteful and can be enjoyed in all seasons.
