A Temple with a Symbolic Statue of Shugyo Daishi

"Koyasan Shingon Sect Ikomasan Ryugan-ji Temple" was founded by "Myokuhouni," and it is said that it was built after the principal image, "Kokuzo Bodhisattva," instructed him to hold a memorial service for the dragon that lives on Mt. Ikoma. The shrine also enshrines the "Mitsho Kojin" and is affectionately known in the area as "Ikoma's Kojin-san." Many people come to pray for blessings such as business prosperity, warding off misfortune, and preventing eye diseases. Within the precincts, there is an impressively large statue of Shugyo Daishi, and in the main hall, there is a ceiling painting of a dragon and a statue of Benzaiten. Many Jizo statues, such as the "Seven Lucky Gods" and "Roku Jizo," are lined up and are a must-see. There are also dolls related to folk tales, adding a touch of fun and charm to the visit.
