A Historic Shrine Listed in the "Engishiki Shinmyocho"

"Abita Shrine," located approximately a 16-minute walk from Hankyu Railway Makiochi Station, is a shrine with a history of more than 1,000 years, written in the "Engishiki Shinmyocho" of the Heian period. The deity enshrined is "Susanoo no Mikoto," and it is said to bring blessings such as marriage. The approach to the temple, which extends on three sides of the shrine grounds, is said to bring good luck due to the phrase "sampo yoshi" in business, and the shrine grounds can be enjoyed in all seasons.

The Yuzu-Shaped "Yuzumi Kuji" is Adorable

Since Minoh City is a yuzu-producing area, there is a "Yuzumi Kuji," which is a cute yuzu-shaped piece of yellow pottery. Yellow is said to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck, and many people take omikuji home with them and display them in their homes as lucky charms that bring good fortune. It is distributed year-round at the shrine office and is recommended as a commemoration of your visit to the shrine.

A Simple Goshuin Stamp Featuring an Autumn Leaf Pattern

The goshuin stamps given at the shrine office are stamped with a motif of the famous autumn leaves of Minoh City and a yuzu, another local specialty, as a symbol of good luck and good fortune. In addition, there is also a special embossed red seal with Minoh Falls and autumn leaves in the background, which is limited to the bookmark, so please get it after visiting the shrine.
