Hanahaku Memorial Park, located in Tsurumi Ward, Osaka City, is a place where you can forget the hustle and bustle of downtown Osaka and enjoy seasonal flowers. Hanahaku Memorial Park is divided into areas such as a large lawn, a windmill hill, and a rose garden, and is crowded with many cherry blossom viewing visitors during the cherry blossom season. More than 1,400 of the cherry blossoms in the park are Yoshino cherry trees, and the cherry blossom season is usually from late March to early April. Among the cherry blossom viewing spots, the cherry blossom tunnel on the east side of Oike is beautiful and recommended.
Hanahaku Memorial Park
"Osaka Castle Park" is a classic park in Osaka, with a castle tower at its center, surrounded by a moat and greenery. It is also a famous spot for plum and cherry blossoms, and approximately 300 cherry trees, mainly Yoshino cherry trees, are planted in "Nishinomaru Garden" within the park. Riverside Park stretches 4.2 kilometers from Kemaaraizeki on the Okawagawa River to Temmabashi Bridge downstream. There are many people walking, running, and picnicking around "Kema Sakuranomiya Park" in any season, and it is a spot crowded with cherry blossom viewing visitors in the spring. Along the right bank, there are buildings representative of the early Meiji period, such as the Japan Mint and Izumpukan, which are a highlight and give you a sense of history. "Tempozan Park" is a park where you can find Mt. Tempozan, which is famous as a low mountain with an altitude of 4.5 meters. This park is located near Japan's largest Nintoku-tenno-ryo tumulus and Richu-tenno-ryo tumulus, which has been selected as one of Japan's "100 Best Historical Parks." There are more than ten ancient tombs in the park, and it is unique in that you can enjoy the park's nature while learning about the history of that time. There are also approximately 1,000 cherry blossom trees in the park, making it a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Sakai City. In March, the temple grounds are filled with Hikan cherry blossoms, and by April they burst into bloom with a variety of blossoms—including graceful old weeping cherry, double, Sato, and wild cherry blossoms. Fukakita Ryokuchi Park
"Kishiwada Castle" is said to have been built by Takaie Wada, a member of Masashige Kusunoki's family, during the Kenmu Restoration period. The original castle tower was destroyed by lightning, and the current one was rebuilt in 1954. The Honmaru and Ninomaru ruins are now Chikiri Park. The combination of the historic atmosphere of "Kishiwada Castle" and the illuminated cherry blossoms at night is a spectacular sight.
