An Indulgent Tamba Chicken Meal in a Warm Nordic-Style Setting
About a 3-minute drive from National Route 372, known as the Dekansho Kaido, this log cabin restaurant is surrounded by abundant nature. In a warm Nordic-style setting, it serves chicken dishes made with Hyogo Prefecture's "Tamba Ajiwai-dori."
The Owner's Passion for Chicken at a Log Cabin Restaurant
Tucked away in Konda, Tamba-Sasayama, this log cabin restaurant was opened in 2007 by the owner-chef who gained experience running a yakitori restaurant after leaving corporate life and wanted to share the appeal of chicken with more people. Built entirely from Finnish logs, the interior has the warm wood and calm atmosphere of a Nordic-style space, with views of Tamba's natural surroundings through the windows. The centerpiece is the branded chicken "Tamba Ajiwai-dori," which is low in fat and cholesterol with a natural sweetness and richness. Attention extends to every plate, while the tableware incorporates Nordic elements and Tamba ware, bringing together the local character of the region through all five senses.

Centered on fragrant flame-grilled chicken, the generous set also includes the day's salad and soup, two pieces of fried chicken, two tsukune meatball skewers, two chicken wings, pickles, and fruit. For the rice dish, there is a choice of "Curry Risotto," "Chicken Zosui," or "Chicken Rice with Cheese and Egg," offering a different combination with each visit. The Rich, Savory Flavor of "Tamba Ajiwai-dori"
"Tamba Ajiwai-dori" is a branded chicken that is low in fat and cholesterol, yet offers natural sweetness, richness, and a pleasantly firm texture. A Custom-Made Iron Griddle and Secret-Recipe Sauce Make the Difference
The chicken thighs are grilled on a custom-made iron plate about 12mm thick, producing a fragrant exterior and a plump, juicy center. The specialty tsukune hamburger steak uses an original ground-chicken blend made from various cuts of "Tamba Ajiwai-dori." The owner's secret sauce, refined through years of experimentation since his days running a yakitori restaurant, combines onions and honey for a deep flavor that defines the dish.
Popular pairings
"Tamba Top Pick Set"
The popular "Tamba Top Pick Set" showcases the flavor of "Tamba Ajiwai-dori" with the day's salad and soup, two pieces of fried chicken, and two tsukune meatball skewers. For the main chicken dish, there is a choice of three flavors: shiso with grated daikon and ponzu, balsamic sauce, or tomato sauce. A message from the owner
After running a yakitori restaurant in Amagasaki for eight years, I was so captivated by Tamba-Sasayama's natural beauty, scenic landscapes, and Tamba pottery that I built a log cabin restaurant here. Drawing on that experience, our menu offers a range of exceptional chicken dishes, including our prized tsukune dango (chicken meatballs) and karaage (Japanese fried chicken), both made with our specially selected brand of chicken, "Tamba Ajiwai-dori." We hope you'll visit to enjoy the scenery and discover the charm of Tamba pottery.
