A Hideaway Filled with the Owner's Personal Style and Taste
Located in a quiet residential area of Shinmei Town, Takahama City, Aichi, the hideaway-style "Nomidokoro Yume" serves a selection of the owner’s favorite and recommended dishes. Originally launched as a food truck specializing in fried chicken, the restaurant opened as a permanent location in October 2025. The signature oversized fried chicken is finished with locally produced white soy sauce, creating a crisp texture and rich flavor. Alongside seafood such as oysters, hokke, and octopus available year-round, the menu also includes meat and rice dishes, as well as the Nagoya specialty "Dote Croquette," filled with simmered miso stew. The calm Japanese-style interior provides a relaxed setting for enjoying food and drinks.
Fresh Seasonal Oysters Best Enjoyed in Their Natural Flavor
Fresh oysters are carefully sourced from regions across Japan according to the season, with four to five varieties typically available year-round. After tasting them raw, different flavor variations can be enjoyed with sauces such as garlic oil, Tabasco, and basil, or paired with toppings including sea urchin and crab. Different selections and combinations offer new flavors with each visit.
Signature Fried Chicken Made with Local White Soy Sauce
Since its founding, the restaurant has consistently pursued fried chicken that remains flavorful even after cooling. Large pieces of chicken are seasoned with white soy sauce and mirin from Hekinan City, Aichi Prefecture, to bring out the meat's natural flavor, then coated in a proprietary batter for a crisp texture. Five different sauces are available for enjoying a variety of flavor combinations.
