Omusubi Cafe "Tying Bonds Through Rice Balls"
"Omusubikororin" is located a 6-minute walk from Seki Terrace-mae Station on the Nagaragawa Railway. The three rice balls symbolise the desire to bring people together, connecting the past with the present and the present with the future. Using locally sourced ingredients strengthens their ties with the local community and contributes to preserving food culture. The signature rice balls are made with "Hatsushimo", a brand of rice from Gifu Prefecture, cooked with Kishu Binchotan charcoal until fluffy and seasoned with "Ako's Tenshio salt," rich in minerals and infused with bittern. The light and fluffy texture of the rice balls is the key to their signature flavour. The café menu includes side dishes made with homemade soy sauce koji and salt koji, as well as drinks and soft-serve ice cream.
Refuel with a Nourishing, Balanced Menu
The "Omusubi Manzoku Set" includes two rice balls and "tonjiru" (pork soup) made with miso from Gifu Prefecture, filled with vegetables, a "beauty salad" made with koji and hijiki seaweed, and a "musubi set" of three side dishes that pair perfectly with rice balls. It is popular for its benefits in improving the intestinal environment and relieving constipation.
Soft Lighting and Seats for a Quiet Pause
The cafe menu is filled with local produce, including drinks made with "Horado Kiwi," "Kaminoho Yuzu," and "Seki Milk" from Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, as well as soft serve ice cream made with sweet potatoes grown on-site. Take-out is also available. Feel free to take a break in the cosy dining area.
