Savor Okinawan Flavors With Live Island Music

"OBar - Kise" is located along National Route 58, approximately a 5-minute drive from Kyoda Interchange on the Okinawa Expressway. A large, striking lion statue stands at the entrance, and this lively restaurant hosts live island song performances every day. Guests can enjoy shabu-shabu and steamed dishes made with Okinawan Agu pork and other local Okinawan cuisine. For the pork used in shabu-shabu and steamed dishes, you can choose from two types: the rare "Golden Agu," a traditional Okinawan breed of pig, or "Agu Pork," a cross between Agu and a Western breed. The shabu-shabu pot can also be used for steamed dishes, making it possible to enjoy and compare both flavors and cooking styles.

One of the highlights is the daily live performances of traditional Okinawan music in the rustic, old-style house setting. Relax at a table with shabu-shabu, steamed dishes, and classic Okinawan home-style cuisine paired with awamori, while enjoying nostalgic island songs and dynamic performances on the sanshin and guitar up close. It is an experience filled with the true spirit of Okinawa.

Healthy Cuisine With Locally Sourced Okinawan Produce
The dishes, conscious of local production and consumption, are made with vegetables grown in the naturally rich land of "Yanbaru" in the northern part of Okinawa Prefecture. In addition to papaya, water spinach - which cannot be taken out of the prefecture as a raw vegetable—and Unnanhyakuyaku, a variety of island vegetables are also available, with the lineup changing by season.
