Enjoy Kyoto Cuisine and Eel in Front of the Charming Temple Gate
This long-established Japanese restaurant is located in Kyoto's Ukyo Ward. It has ties to "Ninna-ji Temple, the head temple of the Omuro school of Shingon Buddhism", and "Myoshin-ji Temple, the head temple of the Myoshinji school of the Rinzai sect". Its popular specialty, the "Tsurezure Bento," named after Yoshida Kenko (Kenko Hoshi), known for his "Tsurezuregusa" (Edo-style grilled eel on rice), is a must-try. In addition to seasonal Kyoto cuisine, the restaurant serves exquisite eel dishes such as "Edo-style grilled eel on rice" and "Edo-style grilled eel kaiseki." Enjoy the atmosphere and flavors of Kyoto in a peaceful atmosphere. With many famous temples scattered nearby, the area is popular with foreign tourists of all ages and genders. With easy access to "Kitayama Rokuon Zen-ji Temple (Kinkaku-ji Temple)", it's a great place to stop by on your way to visit shrines and temples.

The Famous "Tsuredure Gozen" Named After Yoshida Kenko

This specialty dish is inspired by "Tsurezuregusa," one of Japan's three greatest essays, written by Yoshida Kenko. It was created with the image of "Futagaoka", where Kenko is said to have lived at the foot of "Ninna-ji Temple, the head temple of the Omuro school of Shingon Buddhism", and "Myoshin-ji Temple, the head temple of the Myoshinji school of the Rinzai sect", which was founded by Emperor Hanazono, and is depicted in the work.

Spacious Interior Featuring Multiple Private Rooms for a Relaxing Experience

The spacious restaurant has 50 seats, including table seats, private room table seats, and private room sunken kotatsu seats. Its calm atmosphere exudes the Japanese spirit that only a long-established restaurant can offer, allowing you to relax to your heart's content. Large private rooms are also available to suit the number of guests, making it convenient for family celebrations and various banquets.
