Casual Soba and Small Plates in a Homey Setting
Located approximately a 2-minute walk from Tsurumai Station on the Nagoya Municipal Subway, this soba izakaya offers a warm, homey atmosphere. Alongside handmade soba, the menu features a variety of small dishes prepared with ingredients sourced daily from the market, as well as dashi made from horse mackerel, mackerel, and bonito—the same stock used for the soba itself. These carefully prepared dishes pair naturally with a selection of sake and shochu (Japanese spirit), making the space well-suited for an easygoing meal or a relaxed evening drink.
A Cozy Space Comfortable for Any Occasion
With counter seating, tables, and private rooms, the interior offers a warm, approachable atmosphere that feels comfortable for a wide range of dining styles. The space suits solo visits just as naturally as meals with family or groups. In addition to a diverse selection of soba, the menu features a generous lineup of small dishes, including a popular three-item obanzai sampler that allows different flavors to be enjoyed in one sitting.
Soba Enjoyed as a Main or a Perfect Finish
The house soba is prepared using buckwheat flour sourced from Fukui, Nagano, and Hokkaido in Japan, selected and blended according to the season. Alongside classic offerings, a rotating lineup of seasonal soba adds variety throughout the year. A thoughtfully curated drink selection complements the menu, featuring sake from Yamagata Prefecture—the owner’s hometown—along with soba shochu and soba tea–based cocktails, all chosen to pair naturally with both soba and accompanying small dishes.
