A Tonkatsu Specialist Featuring Sizzling Hot Iron-Plate Service
"Tonkatsu Maruki Nanyo" is a specialty restaurant where you can enjoy freshly fried pork cutlets on a piping hot iron plate. They are particular about hand-made food in pursuit of deliciousness, and only grind the breadcrumbs used for the batter in-house, just enough for each day. They use a copper pot with high thermal conductivity, and oil containing lard is used to achieve a crispy texture and rich flavor. The rice is milled in-house every day and cooked in a kamado (traditional Japanese cooking stove), and you can choose from four types, including "seasonal seasoned rice" and "brown rice." They offer a variety of seasonings, including a miso sauce made with Hatcho miso, as well as melted cheese and dote-ni, so it's fun to discover new flavors.
Freshly Milled Rice Cooked to Perfection in a Traditional Kama
The rice is milled daily in-house from brown rice, and the variety is carefully selected. It is cooked in small batches in a kamado (traditional Japanese cooking stove) to ensure fresh, fluffy, and soft rice. In addition to white rice, you can also have as many refills as you like on menu items such as the flavorful "chicken and burdock rice" and mineral-rich "brown rice."
Signature Tonkatsu Featuring Rich Hatcho Miso
Doteni, beef tendon slowly simmered in fragrant Hatcho miso, pairs perfectly with a crispy fried pork cutlet, and the flavor and taste served on a piping-hot iron plate are exceptional. The dish of melted cheese in a rich miso sauce is also popular among female guests for its richness and volume.
