This machiya cafe is located approximately a four-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Electric Railway. The cafe was renovated from a 100-year-old restaurant that was once frequented by Kabuki actors, and features a flower water basin with seasonal flowers and a beautiful garden with fresh greenery in spring, creating a space that exudes the atmosphere of Kyoto. The bookshelves are lined with about 1,000 books about Kyoto's history and food, making it a book cafe filled with love for Kyoto. In addition to dishes such as "obanzai," which uses plenty of vegetables and is nutritionally balanced, so you'll want to eat it every day, the cafe also hosts events packed with the charms of Miyagawacho, Kyoto's entertainment district.
