A Long-Established Japanese Confectionery Shop Founded in 1867 That Makes the Most of Its Ingredients
Located in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, this long-established Japanese confectionery shop has been cherished for over 150 years by people both within and beyond the prefecture. The "Kanazawa Hyakubangai Suehirodo Anto Store," situated inside JR Kanazawa Station, is an ideal spot for purchasing souvenirs. The signature item, "Kintsuba," selected as one of Ishikawa’s Excellent Tourism Souvenirs, highlights the natural qualities of its ingredients and was developed with a focus on health. The shop also offers many award-winning items from confectionery competitions, including "Usukawa Manju" and "Kanazawa Kimi Shigure." More contemporary creations, such as "Okashi no Heya," a playful monaka box filled with konpeito sugar and chocolate, have also gained popularity, particularly among international visitors.

A Special Product Made with Health in Mind
Their specialty "Kintsuba" is made with Hokkaido Dainagon adzuki beans and reduced maltose syrup, which is said to be healthy instead of sugar, and is characterized by its refreshing and elegant taste. To maintain quality, most of the processes are done by hand, and each is carefully finished by hand without using machines.

Perfect as a Gift for Someone Special
Kanazawa is recognised as one of Japan’s three major confectionery regions, thanks to its long tradition of producing Japanese sweets to accompany tea. Among them, "kintsuba" stands out as a representative delicacy. "Suehirodo"’s "kintsuba," honoured with the Zenkahaku Grand Prize at the 25th National Confectionery Exposition, is a true highlight.
