Kominka Cafe Overlooking the Nature of Mount Akagi
A traditional house cafe with over 150 years of history, set at the foot of Mount Akagi in Gunma. Expansive views of the mountain can be seen through the windows, along with seasonal scenery such as cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, autumn foliage, and snowy landscapes in winter, creating a calm setting away from the bustle of the city. The menu features a wide selection of healthy lunch dishes, sweets, and drinks made with local ingredients, along with seasonal items featuring strawberries. The first floor offers a spacious sunken kotatsu-style tatami seating area, while the second floor provides a relaxing space with both table seating and tatami seating, making it suitable for stops during drives, outings, or sightseeing.
Full Renovation Preserving Classic Japanese Character
The fully renovated interior of this traditional house, which dates back to the same era as the World Heritage-listed Tomioka Silk Mill, retains a sense of Japanese character while offering a bright, open atmosphere. Set against a backdrop of the rich natural landscape at the foot of Mount Akagi, the dishes and sweets are presented in a setting that enhances their appeal.
Healthy Lunch with Seasonal Vegetables from Gunma
Healthy lunch dishes are prepared using Gunma's branded beef and locally harvested seasonal vegetables. In addition to popular items such as "Roast Beef Bowl (with Soup)," the menu includes a wide selection of sweets and drinks, with limited-time shaved ice in the warmer months drawing many visitors.
