Kominka Cafe Overlooking the Nature of Mount Akagi
Located at the foot of Mount Akagi in Gunma, this café occupies a traditional house built more than 150 years ago. Views of Mount Akagi unfold through the windows, accompanied by seasonal scenery—cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, autumn foliage, and snow in winter—creating a calm moment away from the city's bustle. The menu features a wide selection of healthy lunches, sweets, and drinks prepared with local ingredients, along with seasonal limited items made with ingredients such as strawberries. The first floor includes a spacious tatami room with sunken kotatsu-style seating where legs can stretch comfortably, while the second floor offers a relaxing space with both table and tatami seating.
Full Renovation Preserving Classic Japanese Character
The interior, created through a full renovation of a traditional house dating back to the same era as the World Heritage-listed Tomioka Silk Mill, preserves the charm of Japanese style while offering a bright, open atmosphere. The location overlooks the rich natural surroundings at the foot of Mount Akagi, where meals and sweets are served in a setting framed by the landscape.
