The Nostalgic Taste of Grilled Offal Returns
"Kappa", a charcoal-grilled horumon restaurant in Miyauchi County, Nanyo city, Yamagata, sadly closed its doors after 65 years at the end of January 2024. The restaurant was revived in July of the same year by the owners, who have inherited the traditions of Kappa, to start a new chapter in its history while keeping the nostalgic taste and atmosphere intact.

Richly Smoked Horumon Grilled Over Charcoal
High-quality binchotan charcoal made from oak is used, creating a dynamic grilling style where the flavour and aroma of offal spreads through the smoky air - an experience that keeps regular guests coming back. The cosy, homely atmosphere offers a sense of returning to one’s hometown. Enjoy grilled horumon, sip local sake, and share nostalgic stories in comfort.

Relax with Sake Brewed in Nanyo City
Local drinks include "Kinkei Wine" from Nanyo City, made with 100% Yamagata-grown grapes, sake from Higashi no Fumoto Brewery, and "Sokinryu," a shochu available only in the Sakata area. In addition to "Sapporo Lager Beer", the "Coffee Shochu" passed down from the previous generation is a recommended final drink to accompany grilled horumon.
