"Gyu Kotsu Curry", a Beloved Recipe Passed Down from Grandfather for Over 40 Years
This curry restaurant is located approximately a 7-minute walk from "Stella★Honbetsu", a roadside station in Honbetsu, Nakagawa County, Hokkaido, which still retains the appearance of the old Furusato Ginga Line. The curry is made using local Honbetsu tomatoes and onions, simmered in beef bone soup, and is a flavor that the third-generation owner inherited from his beloved grandfather and has been protecting for over 40 years. The curry served at the restaurant comes with a complimentary serving of "Imo Mochi (potato dumpling), another nostalgic delicacy that has been loved for over 50 years since the grandfather's generation. "Fukuhime Beef Stew Curry", which uses a rare cut of "Biran Beef Fukuhime", a brand of beef raised at Fukuda Farm in Honbetsu, which has a rich red meat flavor, is also recommended.
