A Sommelier’s Take on Wine and Traditional Japanese Dishes
Just a 17-minute walk from JR Kakogawa Station, Shun Ryori Rindō is a Japanese restaurant that highlights locally sourced ingredients, paired with carefully selected sake and wine.
In 2017, the owner became the first Japanese recipient of a Gold Diploma in the international sommelier qualification exam, "International A.S.I. Sommelier Diploma", held by the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI), and has since achieved a refined harmony between Japanese cuisine and wine. As both chef and sommelier, the owner is also able to craft courses that complement wine pairings. When it comes to sake, the focus is on local brews that match beautifully with the region’s seasonal ingredients.

A Commitment to Local and Seasonal Kaiseki Dining
Shun Ryori Rindō offers kaiseki and teppanyaki dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, as well as the regional speciality, "Katsumeshi". From the counter seats, diners can enjoy the live atmosphere while watching the chefs prepare each dish right before their eyes. Wine and food pairings are also recommended based on individual preferences, allowing guests to fully enjoy high-quality combinations.

Sharing the Beauty of Wine Across Social Platforms
The owner, who also serves as an executive officer of the Japan Sommelier Association, discovered a deep appreciation for wine during his culinary training—seeing it as a drink that connects people. To share this passion, he organises seminars for both the general public and business professionals. He also shares wine-related content on social media under the name "International Sommelier-kun".
