A Famous Japanese Restaurant in Hikone That Has Been Running Since 1896
A Japanese restaurant with a long history, without changing its location or building since its establishment in 1899. It is used in a wide variety of situations, from dinner parties and memorial services to individual visitors enjoying sightseeing in Hikone. Another appeal is that all rooms are private and you can relax. They sell local products such as duck in the winter and sweetfish and biwa trout in the summer, and their specialty is carp koku (a soup made by simmering carp in white miso), which has the same flavor since its founding. They basically serve Kyoto cuisine using local Omi vegetables, but they also serve Omi beef, which is in high demand. In 2015, we opened a tempura specialty store called "Tenki" with counter seats in the same store.
Relax in a private room in a historic store
Since its founding in 1877, this restaurant has remained in its original location in Nishikicho, Hikone City, operating in the same building without renovations. Guests can enjoy meals in tatami rooms that exude a sense of history. The venue accommodates everything from banquets for up to 100 people to solo diners, all in private rooms. Relax and enjoy an extraordinary experience while gazing at the garden.
Tempura Specialty Restaurant "Ten-Iku" for Casual Dining
"Tenki" is a counter - only tempura specialty store that opened in the same store in 2015. It's rare to find a tempura specialty restaurant with counter seats in Shiga, and I'm glad that it's easy to eat even by yourself. You can enjoy tempura made with seasonal ingredients and Omi vegetables that are fried right in front of you. Total 10 seats. The menu is course only.
