Shinonsen Town, facing the Sea of Japan, is known as a producing area of "Tajima beef" and is home to Hamasaka Port, Japan’s leading landing site for firefly squid, as well as the atmospheric hot spring areas of Yumura Onsen and Hamasaka Onsen.
