A Sanuki Udon Restaurant Loved by a Wide Range of Guests
Located in Ayagawa Town, Ayauta County, Kagawa, "Udon Tamakichi" serves Sanuki udon starting at just 290 yen. Made with a specially developed flour created in collaboration with a major manufacturer, the noodles are characterized by a pleasantly firm texture and a smooth surface. The broth is carefully prepared by skilled craftsmen using premium iriko sardines from Ibuki Island in the Seto Inland Sea, selected bonito, and kombu from Hokkaido, creating an excellent pairing with the noodles. Fresh vegetables supplied by local contracted farmers are used in the tempura and side dishes. The tempura is fried exclusively in plant-based oil made primarily from soybeans. Growing in popularity through word of mouth, the restaurant has also been featured numerous times on national television broadcasts.
A Diverse Selection of Side Dishes
A wide variety of side dishes is available, including rice balls, inari sushi, sekihan, seasoned rice, winter-only oden, and limited-availability specialties. More than 20 varieties of tempura, featuring ingredients from both land and sea, are offered, all prepared with high-quality vegetable oil made primarily from soybeans.
The Prefecture's First "Baby Priority Seats"
Reportedly the first in the prefecture to introduce "baby priority seating," the restaurant provides a setting where families with children can dine more comfortably. The seating arrangement allows parents and groups to spend time together at ease while enjoying a relaxed meal.
