Natural hot spring Okasanya Iro Kasane
A Japanese inn located on the shore of Wakasa Town, Fukui , near the Mikata Five Lakes. This inn takes pride in the fact that you can enjoy the lake view from your guest room, open-air bath, and indoor bath with a panoramic view. Nearby is the dynamic driving course "Rainbow Line" where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Mikata Five Lakes, and the inn also rents out EV rental cars. We have set the prices more reasonable than usual because we want people visiting on public institutions to be able to make memories with family, friends, and loved ones.

Awara Onsen, long regarded as a cherished retreat for the "Kansai cultural community" and favored by writers and artists for generations, is counted among Fukui’s leading hot spring destinations and is recognized as one of Japan’s "Top 100 Therapeutic Hot Springs" recommended by balneological physicians. "Seifuso," with a history of nearly 70 years, stands quietly here and features one of the largest garden-style open-air baths in the Hokuriku region. A variety of guest rooms offers relaxed stays tailored to different styles and needs. In September 2022, the theatrical buffet restaurant "Niji" was renewed, presenting dinner in an open-kitchen format where seasonal local ingredients and seafood from the Sea of Japan are prepared before guests’ eyes.

Recently renovated in November 2024, this soothing retreat is filled with a wish to showcase the charms of Fukui—from dinner and breakfast to the quiet moments spent in the room. Each dish is handmade with care, featuring the bounty of the Echizen Coast, local specialties, vegetables sourced from partner farms, and high-quality Fukui rice. The sashimi platters, including beautifully presented funamori, are especially praised for their freshness. In winter, the celebrated Echizen crab—king of the Echizen Sea—draws guests from across Japan. A stay here offers a chance to savor the essence of Fukui with both the eyes and palate.

This hotel is approximately a 10-minute walk from JR Fukui Station and has good access to the Fukui Railway and Keifuku Bus, making it a great base for business and sightseeing. The breakfast buffet is extensive, with over 50 items on the menu, including delicious dishes such as "Roast beef bowl," buttery croissants, and freshly cooked rice from Fukui Prefecture, a rice-producing region.
