If you are a family with small children or want to enjoy the hot springs without having to bathe in the water, we recommend staying in a room with an open-air bath. Additionally, if you are staying at an inn that has private baths or family baths in addition to the large public bath, you can enjoy a variety of baths without having to worry about other people watching you. If the situation is important to you, there are other options such as a hot spring in the mountains where you can bathe under a sky full of stars, an open-air bath overlooking the ocean, or an inn with a snowy bath.
