"Amagase Onsen Seitenkaku" stands in the heart of the Amagase Onsen County in Hita, Oita. First opened approximately 1,300 years ago, Amagase Onsen is one of the three major hot spring areas of Bungo, alongside Beppu and Yufuin. The sulfur-scented water, with floating mineral deposits, is particularly known for its skin-beautifying benefits. "Yuyuyu" features three open-air baths and a large communal bath, while "Yama no Ne" offers an open-air bath with a reclining section and a spacious communal bath with a high ceiling, providing varied bathing settings. Children's bath sets and baby cribs are also available in the bathing areas, making the hot springs convenient for families.

A Warming Breakfast to Start the Day

Breakfast is a Japanese set meal featuring freshly cooked rice, miso soup, grilled fish, and other dishes. The well-balanced menu provides energy for the day after a refreshing soak in the hot springs. Breakfast is served from 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 A.M., with last orders at 8:30 A.M.

Five styles of colorful yukata are also available, offering options for spending time around the property in yukata or renting Hita geta sandals for a stroll through the hot spring district. Location

Private Suspension Bridge and Open "Kawayu"

The hotel overlooks the Kusu-gawa River and the hot spring district. After a short break, the private suspension bridge in front of the hotel leads to a pleasant walk. Along the riverbank are Amagase Onsen's signature communal open-air baths, known as "Kawayu," with bathing wear available for rent at the hotel.

A Peaceful Hot Spring Town for a Change of Pace

Approximately a 15-minute walk away, "Sakuradaki Falls" is known as "a secluded waterfall within easy reach." The powerful cascade drops approximately 20 meters across a width of about 10 meters, and its name comes from the spray resembling fluttering cherry blossoms. The Sakuradaki Falls Promenade also provides convenient access.
