Savor Life Between the Everyday and the Extraordinary
"Izumigaya Kogei no Yado Waraku", which stands quietly in the countryside, is an inn with a theme of history and culture. The eight guest rooms, which utilize the warmth of wood, are impressive with large beams and dirt floors, giving off the atmosphere of an old folk house built over 100 years ago. Waraku Bettei's five rooms are equipped with private saunas, as well as furniture and tools made by craftsmen, allowing you to experience the handicraft culture that has been passed down since the Edo period. Spend your time the way you want, whether it's traveling alone or with family and friends.

Guest Room

Wa -WA-

A space where you can spend time surrounded by beautiful crafts. After sweating in the private sauna, relax while looking at the sky. Feel the breeze on the porch in the evening, look at the starry sky at night, and enjoy the relaxing time.

Raku -RAKU-

A maisonette-type room with an impressive structure connected by a dirt floor. The trees in the garden create a seasonal atmosphere, and the furniture and tools made by craftsmen give you a sense of the spirit of craftsmanship. Accommodates up to 4 people, including the bedroom on the second floor.

Doma -DOMA-

A room with a long dirt floor that creates depth, and a miniature garden in one corner that brings harmony. Since the room itself is independent, it is equipped with underfloor heating, making it a comfortable environment even in winter, so you can spend a time different from your daily life.

Fuji -FUJI-

"Wisteria" makes me feel nostalgic. It has a counter kitchen, large bath, and private sauna, and can accommodate up to 6 people, so it is recommended for families and friends. It is also recommended for long-term stays as it is equipped with a washing machine and microwave.

3 newly created rooms

"ICHIHIME", reminiscent of a Showa-era town inn, overlooks a garden with a pond, while "ICHIRO" has a private wooden deck with a view of the moonlight in the countryside. "Ichie" is a guest room where you can be soothed by beautiful lamps.

Hot Springs

Two types of luxurious cypress baths

The bathroom is filled with the scent of cypress, which is said to have a relaxing effect similar to taking a forest bath. There are two cypress baths, one of which is a cold bath, so you can relax even more by alternating hot and cold water baths.

Our Own Space/Private Sauna

Relax in a sauna infused with the soothing scent of tea, available anytime without time restrictions. After warming up, try a cold bath or open-air bath to experience "totonou"—a Japanese term for perfect relaxation and refreshment. The cypress bath and sauna are exclusively available in five villa rooms.

Restaurant&bar

A luxurious masterpiece where you can enjoy the blessings of Suruga Bay and the mountains.

"Simples" expresses the delicacies of Suruga Bay and the blessings of the mountains in one dish to enjoy the flavors of Shizuoka Prefecture. By using ingredients carefully selected by the chef and creating French-based creative dishes, you can enjoy dishes that can only be found at that moment.

Colorful dishes to start the day

For breakfast, we prepare items using plenty of locally produced ingredients, such as Tororo soup, a specialty of Mariko-syuku, a post town on the Tokaido road, and Shizuoka oden, a taste of hometown. The well-balanced dishes, served in carefully selected bowls, are perfect for a refreshing morning.

Location

Enjoy walking around Izumigaya while admiring the scenery

Mariko-syuku, a post town on the 53rd station of the Tokaido, is an attractive place that is steeped in nature and history. There are various facilities scattered around the area, including cafes, restaurants, candy stores, and breweries, so take a stroll and think about the travelers of yesteryear.

Discover Craftsmanship at One of Japan's Largest Experience Centers

At the adjacent Sunpu Workshop Takumi-shuku, you can experience traditional crafts such as Suruga bamboo work, Japanese dyeing, woodwork, lacquer, and pottery, which have been passed down in Shizuoka since the Imagawa and Tokugawa eras. Why not stop by before or after your stay and experience the charm of making things?
