Two Guestroom Types Framed by Calm Natural Surroundings
This accommodation stands at the foothills of the Juniko area in the western part of the Shirakami Mountains, a World Natural Heritage site. Guest rooms include the "Authentic Nordic Log Cottage" and the "Group Building Japanese-Style Room," while facilities such as a restaurant, public bath, product shop, playground area, and observation point are spread across the spacious grounds. Dinner features creative dishes prepared with fresh seafood raised in the waters of the Shirakami Mountains and local vegetables, presenting a variety of seasonal ingredients. Activities with local guides, including trekking and snow hikes, offer courses of varying durations and are widely selected. Nearby natural sites include "Aoike" and "Kanayama no Ike," two of the lakes within the Juniko group, as well as "Japan Canyon."

Guest Room

"Authentic Nordic Log Cottage"

Sixteen Finnish-built log cottages (capacity: six guests) stand across the grounds. The first floor features a living room with an open ceiling and a bedroom, while the second floor includes another bedroom along with a loft and a veranda, creating a setting that reflects warmth and a close connection with nature.

"Japanese-Style Room in the Main Lodge"

This guest room accommodates up to seven guests and consists of a 10-tatami living room and a 6-tatami loft. Facilities include air conditioning and heating, a bath, a toilet with a bidet function, a television, a refrigerator, a hair dryer, and a selection of amenities. Tatami flooring creates a relaxing setting accompanied by views of the surrounding natural landscape from the windows.

Wood-Burning Stove Warmth for a Quiet Restful Hour

A limited number of cottages are equipped with wood-burning stoves, creating a warm setting accompanied by the flicker of flames and the sound of crackling firewood. The space lends itself to quiet activities such as reading, playing games, or spending time with a warm drink.

Cuisine

Dinner That Fully Showcases the Blessings of the Season

"Restaurant Akashobin" is known for creative cuisine generously incorporating fresh seafood, local wild vegetables, and other vegetables. Along with dishes that delicately express seasonal flavors, upgraded courses featuring select ingredients are also available.

Facility

"Large Public Bath Aone no Yu"

At the separate building "Public Bath Aone no Yu," baths are enjoyed while viewing seasonal scenery. The water comes from deep underground, formed by rain and snow that seeped into the foothills of the Shirakami Mountains. The facility has a winter closure period.

"Product Hall Kawasemi"

A selection of products highlighting the Shirakami Mountains is available, including local specialties, crafts, agricultural products, and processed foods. The shop offers an opportunity to encounter regional culture and industry while selecting souvenirs, and the locally popular "Aoike Cider" is also available. The facility has a winter closure period.

Location

Cottage Stay Beneath a Sky Filled with Stars

The surrounding area has little city light, and exterior lights within the grounds are turned off early, allowing a sky filled with stars and the silhouette of the Shirakami Mountains to emerge against the night. The setting also allows time indoors to watch for constellations and passing shooting stars.

"Aoike Pond" Glowing in Natural Deep Blue

"Aoike," one of the Juniko lakes located on the western side of the Shirakami Mountains, a World Natural Heritage site, is known for its vivid cobalt-blue color and remarkable clarity, revealing fallen trees resting on the lakebed. Trekking tours offered through accommodation plans provide access to this distinctive landscape.

The Dramatic Landscape of Japan Canyon

Located in the Juniko area, Nihon Canyon is a scenic spot known for sweeping cliffs with exposed white tuff rock faces. An observation area is also available, offering expansive views of the dramatic cliffs framed by fresh greenery from spring to summer and autumn foliage in fall.

Forest Trekking Through Landscapes Shaped by Nature

A stay plan is available for guided walks through the Juniko area, known for striking scenery in every season. A variety of courses suit a wide range of skill levels, leading through forest trekking routes to clear ponds and primeval woodland while offering close contact with the vitality of nature.
