A Coastal Retreat to Please "Both the Eyes and the Palate"
Recently renovated in November 2024, this soothing retreat is filled with a wish to showcase the charms of Fukui—from dinner and breakfast to the quiet moments spent in the room. Each dish is handmade with care, featuring the bounty of the Echizen Coast, local specialties, vegetables sourced from partner farms, and high-quality Fukui rice. The sashimi platters, including beautifully presented funamori, are especially praised for their freshness. In winter, the celebrated Echizen crab—king of the Echizen Sea—draws guests from across Japan. A stay here offers a chance to savor the essence of Fukui with both the eyes and palate.

Guest Room

Japanese-Western Style Room Boasting an Open Private Space

The spacious 25-tatami-mat Japanese-Western room (approximately 41m²) includes a washroom and toilet for added comfort. A kotatsu is set up in winter, creating a cozy private atmosphere. At night, relaxation unfolds on a semi-double tatami bed.

Dinosaur x Glasses "Fukui Room"

A 20-tatami-mat guest room (approximately 33m²) themed around Fukui’s celebrated eyeglass craftsmanship and its newly identified dinosaur species. Durable shoji screens add peace of mind for guests staying with children, while the room arrangement can be coordinated to suit a variety of group styles—from couples to families—ensuring a relaxed and personalized stay.

Dinosaur x Echizen Crab "Fukui Room"

The striking artwork of a dinosaur playfully holding an Echizen Crab creates an irresistible photo spot, adding a memorable touch to the stay. The calm and spacious 22-tatami-mat room (approximately 36m²) offers ample comfort and a relaxed atmosphere suited to guests of all ages. Its generous layout also makes it an excellent choice for multigenerational families and group stays.

Cuisine

Assorted Sashimi Platters Featuring Fresh Seasonal Seafood

Seasonal seafood from Echizen is served with a focus on freshness and skilled knife work—a combination that gives the sashimi its clean, delicate flavor. Many guests visit especially for the sashimi, and the menu is also arranged so that even children who are not fond of seafood can enjoy their meal.

Crab Dishes Awaited With the Arrival of the Season

Crabs are brought alive from Mikuni Port directly to the kitchen, ensuring exceptional freshness and quality. Many guests return each year, waiting for the start of crab season. Full-course menus feature boiled crab, sashimi-style crab, and grilled crab, with popular options that pair the course with a grand funamori platter of sashimi.

Over 50 Breakfast Selections Featuring Fukui’s Regional Ingredients

Breakfast brings the flavors of Fukui: miso soup with fresh wakame and tofu, grilled mackerel, heshiko (fermented mackerel), and locally grown vegetables. Koshihikari rice, delivered directly from nearby farmers, is cooked to order for the morning service. A gentle, nourishing start to the day.

Facility

Private Baths with Distinct Ambiences

The inn features two private baths: a citrus-infused bath and a charcoal bath renovated in October 2023. Usage is managed by a sign-up sheet, allowing multiple visits throughout the stay. The charcoal bath is equipped with handrails for easier use by older guests and expectant mothers, while the citrus bath provides a range of baby amenities for families.

Serene Spaces with a Refined Japanese Touch

When you open the entrance, you are greeted by a Japanese-style space decorated with kimono obi. The interior of the hotel is decorated with unique wallpaper and dried flowers, and the design is full of gorgeousness and kindness, creating an atmosphere where you can forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life and spend a quiet time.

Garden Terrace Where the Sea Breeze Gently Arrives

The outdoor garden terrace, completed in July 2025, is a space designed to catch the gentle sea breeze—ideal for quiet conversation or teatime. The area is arranged so children have room to move freely. In the early morning and at dusk, the view opens to soft coastal light, creating a calming moment with the wind from the sea.

Location

Overlooking the Echizen Coast and Mountain Scenery

Approximately a 30-minute drive from JR Fukui Station, with the Echizen Coast right in front of the property. Convenient for scenic drives and sightseeing. Guests can enjoy swimming in summer, and the winter-only Nami no Hana sea spray is also a notable view. Relax while taking in the beauty of the Sea of Japan.

Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum: A Highlight of the "Dinosaur Kingdom"

The Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, which reopened in July 2023, is a must-see tourist spot when visiting the inn. The inn also has rooms with dinosaur motifs, so you can feel the charm of Fukui in your mind and body.
