The meal is a kaiseki meal that incorporates local ingredients such as seafood from the Setouchi Inland Sea and designated vegetables. The Ichima Washitsu rooms feature wide verandas overlooking the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, offering a calm, restorative view of the water. The property includes twelve 10-tatami rooms (approx. 16.5m²) for up to five guests and seven 12-tatami rooms (approx. 20m²) for up to six guests, making the space suitable for couples, families, or small groups. Ako Onsen, Selected as One of the "100 Best Hot Springs"

Ako Onsen, which has been affectionately known as the "Hot Spring of Resurrection," is one of the few calcium chloride springs in Japan. It was also selected as one of the "100 Best Hot Springs" recommended by hot spring therapists and experts. The hot springs, which are rich in minerals, have excellent moisturizing properties and can be expected to have beautifying effects on the skin.

Dinner features a seasonal kaiseki course crafted with carefully selected ingredients from the Seto Inland Sea and designated local farms. Attention to dashi and salt allows each element to express its natural character. In winter, a special oyster kaiseki highlighting Akō’s renowned oysters is also offered.

Grilled Sea Bream Using Salt, a Specialty of Ako

"Salt grilled in a salt pot" is a specialty dish unique to Ako, a famous area for producing teshio.The sea bream, with its scales still attached, is wrapped in salt mixed with egg white, and the surface is handcrafted one by one by the head chef himself using a chisel. The grilled sea bream is plump and a must-try.

The inn's proud view of Ako Misaki overlooking the calm Seto Inland Sea can be enjoyed from the guest rooms, open-air baths, and lobby. Have a relaxing stay while listening to the sound of the waves and watching the changing face of the ocean. We also recommend taking a walk in the morning when the sun rises over the sea or at sunset.

Enjoy the Night View and Sunrise at "Kairou Garden"

The "Kairou Garden" on the premises is the perfect spot to enjoy the fantastically illuminated atmosphere and the morning sun. It is also recommended for a break after taking a bath or for a morning walk. Available from 5:30 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. (not available from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.)

The Ako Castle Ruins, a Prominent Historical Landmark

It takes approximately 10 minutes by car from the inn to the ruins of Ako Castle, which was selected as one of "Japan's 100 Famous Castles®". Ako Castle is the residence of Asano Takumi no Kami Naganori, known for "Chushingura". It is now designated as a national historic site, and many people make "pilgrimages" to see it as a place connected to the Ako Gishi.

Stone Statues of the Forty-Seven Akō Loyal Retainers

Ako Oishi Shrine, associated with Chūshingura, is approximately a 10-minute drive from the inn. Stone statues of the Forty-Seven Akō Loyal Retainers—including Kuranosuke Oishi—line both sides of the shrine approach, creating a uniquely atmospheric pathway. The shrine is known for blessings related to "great wish fulfillment" and "heartfelt aspirations," making it a meaningful place to visit during a trip to Ako.
