Six Baths, Including an Open-Air Bath, to Enjoy the Scenic Tranquility of Tsunan
A Japanese-style inn located on the banks of the peacefully flowing Shinano River. I was welcomed with warm hospitality and felt like I had come back to my hometown. In the inn's proud bath, you can enjoy a bath while looking out at the rich natural scenery, such as the changing leaves in autumn and the silver world in winter. At the open-air bath, you can enjoy the refreshing air and enjoy a blissful soak in the hot water. Additionally, the two baths are switched between men and women in the morning and night, so you can visit six baths in one night's stay. Stretch your arms and legs while admiring the scenery of Tsunan and heal the fatigue of your trip.

Guest Rooms Where You Can Enjoy the Nature of Tsunan and the Changing Seasons

The guest rooms, where you can relax and enjoy the view of Tsunan's nature, are popular as they allow you to enjoy the changing seasons. In particular, we recommend Karin, a guest room with an open-air bath, where you can enjoy the luxurious view of the scenery from the bathtub and the golden hot water all to yourself.

Popular Handmade "Pressed Flower Art"

All rooms are named after flowers, and next to the entrance to each room is a pressed flower art handmade by the inn's Grandma. Approximately 140 pressed flowers are displayed throughout the museum, and their aesthetic appeal is well-received.

Hot Springs

"Chikuma no Yu" where you can enjoy the nature and golden hot springs of Tsunan

There are two hot springs, "Chikuma no Yu" and "Shinano Yu", each with an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a single-person bath with free-flowing hot spring water. Men's and women's baths are switched in the morning and at night, so you can enjoy a total of 6 baths during your stay.

"Shinanoyu" where you can be healed by the sound of the river and hot springs

The large public bath "Shinanoyu" is located on the top floor. There is something special about relaxing in the hot springs where you can stretch your arms and legs while looking out at the nature of Tsunan spreading out before your eyes. Relax your mind and body in the golden hot springs that moisturize your skin.

The private bath "Hotaru no Yu" is also recommended.

For guests who want to enjoy a relaxing bath, we also recommend the paid private bath "Hotaru no Yu" with a great view. It's perfect for a warm time, whether it's a romantic time with a couple, or a family relaxing without having to bathe in the water.

After-bath place "Yamanoso"

After relaxing both mind and body in the bath, take a break at the post-bath area "Yamanogusa". While cooling down your warm body, you can relax and admire the scenery from the window.

Cuisine

A meal where you can enjoy local Tsunan cuisine

The meals, where you can enjoy Echigo's mountain and sea cuisine and Tsunan's local cuisine, have a wide variety of handmade menus, such as homemade juices, Grandma's famous carp soup, and homemade Koshihikari rice. The menu changes every two months, allowing you to enjoy seasonal flavors.

Enjoy local sake from rice-producing regions

Yukiguni, which is a member of the Niigata Jizake no Yado, offers local sake from Niigata, a rice-producing region that goes well with dishes. You can also try "Naebayama," a limited edition sake produced jointly by the Tsunan Town Inn Association and Naeba Sake Brewery. Enjoy the ginjo aroma unique to Junmai Daiginjo sake.

Experience the four seasons of Tsunan through food

The menu changes once every two months so that you can enjoy seasonal ingredients from Tsunan. Through food, we want to feel the seasons through sight, taste, and smell. Additionally, guests with children can enjoy dinner in a private room with tatami mats.

Unexplored area "Akiyamago"

"Akiyama-go" is a general term for villages scattered along the upper reaches of the Nakatsu River. The Saya region, which straddles Nagano and Niigata prefectures, is a place that retains a strong vestige of past life, making you feel as if you are witnessing the original landscape of Japan. I want to look at the rich nature of each season and think about culture.

Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale: Art Exhibits in Satoyama

The Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, considered a pioneer in regional art festivals, uses abandoned schools and tunnels in the region to display approximately 200 works that express the life of Satoyama, which is connected to the earth through agriculture. The event in 2024 will be held from July 13th to November 10th.
