A Restored Machiya Rich in History and Cultural Character
"Oyado Kinokuniya Kagomachi" is approximately a 5-minute walk from the Nagasaki Electric Tramway Shinchi Chinatown stop. Located near the site of "Tojin Yashiki ruins," where Chinese visitors lived during the Edo period, the hotel offers a sense of exoticism and traditional culture. This area is one of the birthplaces of Nagasaki's signature conventional performing art, the "Jaodori (Dragon Dance)." The dance, which originated as a rain-making ritual introduced from China, is a heroic local performing art that is dedicated to the "Nagasaki Kunchi" festival at Suwa Shrine.
