An Inn Where You Can Enjoy Fresh Locally Caught Seafood and a Great View
"Myojinkan" is a warm, family-run inn located right in front of Mihonoseki Port, at the eastern tip of the Shimane Peninsula, which is surrounded on three sides by the sea. As the historic eastern gateway to the ancient Izumo region, Mihonoseki Town invites visitors to experience its rich culture and coastal charm. Stroll along the iconic "Blue Stone Pavement," selected as one of the "100 Historical and Cultural Assets of Fishing Villages to Be Preserved for the Future," centered around "Mihonoseki Shrine"—the head shrine of Ebisu, the god of prosperity. Upon returning to the inn, you'll be welcomed with a generous spread of seafood dishes lovingly prepared by the hostess. In winter, enjoy Matsuba crab; from September through June, savor red snow crab. The deep-fried rockfish is the most popular item on the menu. From the large communal bath on the top floor, you can admire sweeping views of Miho Bay and, on clear days, Mt. Daisen.

Guest Room

"Japanese-Style Room Ten Tatami Mats" (Sea Side)

The ten-tatami Japanese-style room accommodates one to four guests and offers a stunning ocean view. Open the shoji screen to reveal a breathtaking panorama of the blue sea and sky - perfect for families, couples, or small groups. You’ll find yourself wanting to sit on the chairs by the window and gaze at the ocean for hours.

"Eight Tatami Japanese-Style Room" (Mountain Side)

This city-facing room accommodates one to three guests. With eight tatami mats of space, it’s perfect for small groups, but also ideal for solo travelers looking to enjoy a relaxed, independent stay. Featuring traditional Japanese elements such as a tokonoma (decorative alcove) and shoji screens, this authentic room is a favorite among those who value privacy.

"Japanese-Style Room 15 Tatami Mats" (Mountain and Ocean Side)

The 15-tatami-mat room accommodates three to six guests, making it perfect for multigenerational families or group travelers. Spending time relaxing on the tatami floor is sure to create lasting memories. Amenities include bath towels, a TV, a refrigerator, and a toilet with a heated seat.

Spa

Relax in the Large Public Bath With a Great View

The large public bath has separate facilities for men and women. From the windows, you can enjoy views of the beautiful Miho Bay - and on clear days, even Mt. Daisen. One of the baths is slightly more compact, making it ideal for families. A full range of amenities is provided, and designated time slots are arranged to help avoid crowding.

Cuisine

Fresh Seafood Caught That Morning

Savor the bounty of the sea brought into Mihonoseki Town, located at the eastern tip of the Shimane Peninsula, through dishes lovingly prepared by the hostess. Seasonal seafood is available year-round, including Matsuba crab in winter and red snow crab, available from September through June, excluding July and August. Freshly caught seafood is featured in a variety of beautifully arranged kaiseki-style meals.

Enjoy the Inn's Breakfast

Breakfast features a menu unique to a traditional Japanese ryokan. A must-try in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, is the mineral-rich shijimi (freshwater clam) soup. You'll also enjoy a nutritious Japanese-style breakfast with local specialties such as squid sashimi, marinated dishes, dried flounder, and more.

Popular Dinner Dish: "Deep-Fried Rockfish"

"Deep-Fried Rockfish" is a guest favorite, prepared whole using fresh fish for a visually striking presentation. Its refined, slightly sweet flavor and rich taste make it a deeply satisfying dish. Enjoy the fluffy texture and umami-packed bite.

Facility

A Little Happy "Fireworks Present"

Because fireworks are often prohibited in public spaces such as parks in urban areas, this inn offers complimentary fireworks year-round, allowing guests to create unique memories typical of the countryside. "Fireworks sets" are also available for rental, so guests can freely enjoy them during their stay.

Meals Are Served in the Large Hall or a Private Room

Dinner and breakfast are served either in the "main dining area" (a spacious banquet hall) or in a "private dining room". Both feature tatami flooring with tables and chairs. Private rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to request one in advance if you prefer a more private setting.
