Ako Onsen, Selected as One of the "100 Best Hot Springs"

Ako Onsen, which has been affectionately known as the "Hot Spring of Resurrection," is one of the few calcium chloride springs in Japan. It was also selected as one of the "100 Best Hot Springs" recommended by hot spring therapists and experts. The hot springs, which are rich in minerals, have excellent moisturizing properties and can be expected to have beautifying effects on the skin.

Cuisine

Kaiseki Cuisine Incorporating Carefully Selected Seasonal Ingredients

Dinner is a Kaiseki meal that uses ingredients carefully selected by the head chef, such as seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, vegetables from designated production areas, and Kobe beef, to enjoy the seasonal ingredients. We are particular about the dashi stock and salt, allowing you to enjoy dishes that bring out the best of the ingredients. In winter, we also have oyster kaiseki, a specialty of Ako.

Grilled Sea Bream Using Salt, a Specialty of Ako

"Salt grilled in a salt pot" is a specialty dish unique to Ako, a famous area for producing teshio. The sea bream, with its scales still attached, is wrapped in salt mixed with egg white, and the surface is handcrafted one by one by the head chef himself using a chisel. The grilled sea bream is plump and a must-try.

It is now designated as a national historic site, and many people make "pilgrimages" to see it as a place connected to the Ako Gishi.

Ako Oishi Shrine, where stone statues of the 47 Ako Gishi are lined up

Ako Oishi Shrine, which is associated with "Chushingura", is about ten minutes by car from the inn. On both sides of the approach are stone statues of 47 Ako Gishi warriors, including Kuranosuke Oishi.
