Serene Moments by Lake Suwa and Exquisite Monthly Kaiseki Dishes
A 12-story Japanese-style inn built in a modern sukiya-style (a refined Japanese architectural style) stands gracefully on the shores of Lake Suwa. Guests are greeted by magnificent views—of the lake spreading out below and the distant peaks of Mount Yari and Mount Hotaka—that evoke a deep sense of travel and tranquility. Seasonal kaiseki cuisine reflects the changing beauty of Shinshu, featuring locally sourced mountain vegetables, river fish, highland produce, mushrooms, and "Shinshu Premium Beef," complemented by seafood freshly delivered from Tsukiji. The abundant hot spring, available 24 hours a day, offers an ever-welcoming retreat for relaxation. With heartfelt hospitality infused with the warmth of nature, every stay promises a deeply restorative experience.

Guest Room

"Premium Suite with Private Open-Air Hot Spring Bath"

The "Premium Suite with Private Open-Air Hot Spring Bath" occupies a corner on the 12th floor, the hotel’s top level. The spacious layout includes two Japanese-style rooms (12.5 and 6 tatami mats), a Western-style living room (18 tatami mats), and a Western-style bedroom (10 tatami mats). With its refined ambiance and magnificent view, this top-grade suite provides an ideal setting for celebrations and special occasions.

"Suite Rooms"

Three "Suite Rooms" are located on the corners of the 11th and 12th floors. Each features a spacious layout combining Japanese and Western aesthetics, with two Japanese-style rooms (12.5 and 8 tatami mats) and one Western-style room (12.5 tatami mats). These premium suites offer a refined atmosphere where guests can appreciate the distinct charm of both styles.

Japanese-Style Room

All rooms are Japanese-style rooms facing Lake Suwa. There are two types: the standard type, "Japanese Room" (10 tatami mats with a spacious veranda), and the larger type, "Japanese Room" (12.5 and 6 tatami mats with a spacious veranda). Each is a pure Japanese-style room where guests can unwind in comfort, stretching out their legs and relaxing barefoot.

"Western-style Room"

"Western-style Room" is located on the 4th floor, designed to provide a relaxing stay. Twin and single types are available, offering a simple and unpretentious space ideal for business trips or solo travelers.

Spa

Kami-Suwa Hot Springs

Legend has it that "Kami-Suwa Onsen" was born when the goddess of Suwa Taisha Shrine let a drop of the hot water she used for her makeup fall onto cotton as she crossed to the opposite shore. Today, this historic hot spring town is blessed with abundant natural springs, with around 300 sources yielding 15,000 kilolitres of water each day.

A Variety of Hot Spring Baths

The large public bath, open 24 hours a day, features four types of baths: black granite, cypress, open-air rock, and medicinal herb. A sauna is also available. Immerse yourself in the soothing waters and let the bustle of daily life fade away.

Private bath

Families, couples, and close friends find time here to relax and indulge together. Guests with small children also appreciate the comfort of bathing freely, as if soaking in the warmth of their own home.

Cuisine

Exquisite Kaiseki Dining

Focusing on ingredients from Shinshu—such as mountain vegetables, river fish, highland produce, mushrooms, and Shinshu beef—the cuisine skillfully incorporates seasonal flavors from around Japan and fresh seafood delivered directly from Tsukiji. Each kaiseki dish is artfully arranged with attention to the tableware, creating a feast as beautiful to the eye as it is to the palate.

Signature Local Sake

"Ukishiro," a junmai daiginjo sake commissioned from a renowned brewery representing Shinshu, and "Kobai," a plum wine made with fully ripened Nanko plums from Kishu, are both original creations of "Hama no Yu." Each pairs beautifully with the cuisine and is also available for gift purchase.

Private "Dining Rooms"

A blissful dining experience awaits in the private dining rooms located on the first and second floors. On the second floor, "Ukishiro" offers views of a Japanese garden with a gently flowing stream, evoking a serene sense of Wa. On the first floor, "Otomedaki" features sunken kotatsu seating, allowing guests to unwind in comfort.
