A Traditional Ryotei Standing in Nagoya's Historic Shirakabe District
Located along the "Okanzakura Tree-Lined Avenue," known as one of the earliest cherry blossom viewing spots in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, "Taiko Honten Chikara-machi" is distinguished by its stately appearance as a three-story traditional house relocated to the historic Shirakabe residential district around 50 years ago. Carefully selected marbled wagyu, primarily sourced from Kyushu and personally chosen by the company president, is featured in dishes such as sukiyaki, enjoyed with fresh egg, and shabu-shabu prepared with thick-cut wagyu briefly swished in hot water and paired with house-made sesame sauce. Seasonal kaiseki cuisine, adding color throughout the year, is also available, presenting the long-established flavors that have remained loved in Nagoya for many years.
Flexible Banquet Spaces for Small and Large Gatherings
The first floor of the three-story restaurant features raised tatami seating and table seating, accommodating banquets of up to 70 guests. The second and third floors offer a variety of tatami rooms in different sizes, including private rooms suited to smaller gatherings and banquet halls for up to 54 guests, with arrangements such as chairs and floor cushions available upon request.
A Comfortable Space Suited to Many Different Occasions
Despite its reputation for shabu-shabu and kaiseki cuisine, the restaurant offers a comfortable atmosphere free from excessive formality, earning support across generations. The setting suits a range of occasions, from casual everyday lunches to milestone celebrations, anniversaries, and business gatherings shared with important guests.
