A Comforting Spot Filled with the Owner’s Gentle Spirit
A cafe located approximately a 4-minute walk from Higashiyama Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway, set within the Furukawacho Shopping Street near sightseeing spots such as "Chion-in" and "Maruyama Park." Opened in 2024 with the aim of "creating a calm place reminiscent of visiting an acquaintance," the menu reflects a thoughtful approach with an emphasis on organic, pesticide-free, and sugar-conscious options whenever possible. Ingredients are carefully selected through direct relationships with producers to ensure quality. Events are also held regularly in the gallery space, and the drinkware features hand-fired ceramics commissioned from social welfare organizations.
Comfort Rooted in the Owner’s Personality
The interior, gently lit by soft natural light from a skylight, offers a comfortable setting that also serves as a place for interaction among guests. Many visitors become regulars, drawn by the owner’s personality and engaging conversation, described as "just an enthusiast." Events held in the "gallery space" provide additional opportunities to visit.
Coffee Crafted with a Careful Selection of Beans
Coffee refined to the owner’s standards features a well-balanced bitterness and depth without noticeable acidity. Two varieties of hot coffee, "Brazil" and "Ethiopia," allow for comparison of distinct flavor profiles. The popular "Sake Lees Basque Cheesecake" pairs well with the coffee.
